Why we are making the switch
Electricity is one of the largest drivers of our indirect CO₂ emissions (Scope 2). By switching to certified green electricity, we significantly reduce these emissions, moving closer to our goal of making the entire Group more climate friendly.
The framework agreement with Green Planet Energy
We have signed a green electricity framework agreement that will gradually cover all German entities. Step by step, we are transitioning until all our sites are supplied with 100% certified green electricity. This sends a clear message: we take action instead of just talking.
More than just CO₂ Reduction
Green Planet Energy doesn’t supply just any green power. Their electricity comes from renewable sources and meets strict certification standards. This means:
- 100% renewable energy – exclusively wind and solar
- No coal, no nuclear – a consistent exclusion of harmful and high‑risk energy sources
- Direct origin – electricity from plants that actively support Germany’s energy transition
- Supporting new capacity – investments in the expansion of renewables rather than mere certificate trading
Our Goal
We plan to switch all our sites across the Group to green electricity by the end of 2027. This represents a major lever in aligning our company sustainably and shows that climate action here is not just theory but practice.
